The Creamette Company Background
Creamette pasta, one of America’s favorite pastas, is as rich in history as it is in taste.

It all started when James T. Williams borrowed $100.00 to start a grocery store in Minneapolis in 1896. In 1912, Williams invented the first quick cooking elbow macaroni and patented the name Creamette. Creamette became the official name of his company in 1916 and it grew from being a regional brand to a national brand.

In the 1950’s, Creamette became known as “the recipe company” due to a successful ad campaign, “Easy, quick recipes are placed on each box”. In 1978, William’s son sold the company to Borden and on July 30, 2001, New World Pasta acquired the Creamette brand from the Borden Foods Corporation.

Today, Creamette pasta is widely distributed throughout 37 states in the US.
